Hypnotherapy for Anxiety & Panic
Anxiety can bring constant worry, racing thoughts, tension and sudden waves of panic, and can shape everyday life. Hypnotherapy may help you relax, change how you respond to anxious thoughts and build calmer habits. We begin by understanding your experience, then tailor sessions to you.
Hypnotherapy may help with this, but I do not claim it cures medical conditions. We will always talk through whether it is a suitable approach for you.
How anxiety can show up
Anxiety looks different for everyone. For some people it is a constant background worry. For others it arrives as sudden panic, with a racing heart, tight chest or difficulty concentrating. It can lead to avoiding places or situations, disturbed sleep and feeling permanently on edge.
How hypnotherapy may help
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and focus. Many people find that in this state it is easier to step back from anxious thoughts and practise calmer ways of responding. Sessions may include relaxation techniques, work on how you react to worry and panic, and building habits you can use between sessions.
My approach
I am a registered mental health nurse with over 30 years’ NHS experience, including crisis and psychiatric liaison work. We begin by understanding your experience: what sets your anxiety off, how it affects you and what you have already tried. I then tailor sessions to you. You stay awake, aware and in control throughout.
Is hypnotherapy right for you?
Hypnotherapy suits many people, but not everyone. Screening is part of the process, and I ask about your medical and mental health history before we begin. If you have not spoken to your GP about persistent anxiety, or you have physical symptoms that worry you, please get them checked. Hypnotherapy can sit alongside medical care but does not replace it.
Common questions
Can hypnotherapy help with panic attacks?
It may help you feel calmer and respond differently to panic. Results vary, and we will talk through whether it is suitable at your consultation.
Will I have to talk about everything that worries me?
No. You share what you are comfortable with. You do not have to reveal anything you would rather keep private.
What to expect
Sessions take place online by secure video, on Thursdays, and last around 45 to 55 minutes. Your first consultation is free and confidential. We talk through what brings you to therapy and whether hypnotherapy is right for you. You stay awake, aware and in control throughout.
